Fertilizers

Please fertilize your lawn and not the lake! Avoid over fertilizing, fertilizers can leech into the ground water and eventually become runoff into the lake causing algae growth that affects our water quality and clarity. Consider that 75% of recommended application amount is usually enough. Any fertilization product used around the lake should be phosphorous free.  You can know your fertilizer is safe by ensuring the middle number is “zero” (see picture). Mulch lawn clippings as an alternative to fertilizer.
